Vauxhall on tonight's news - jase1
So what is this about Opel apparently being in a financial crisis, but Vauxhall not? This is being used as a reason to keep the UK factories open (at least by the lazy journos at ITN).

So, the question must be asked, if Vauxhall are doing sooo well in relation to Opel, why don't they break off and go it alone?

Because Vauxhall have no designs of their own apart from perhaps a Victor from 1964?

It has been prooven that a UK company cannot survive alone so VX does need a partner. I however there is no reason why VX could not find a different part to Opal and then both go their seperate ways. Just as longs as the Chineese and Russians stay out.
