There is hope that authorities will listen to the road users.
When driving North towards the northern M25 J9 roundabout the left hand lane has been logically remarked for the 1st exit (M25) and the 2nd exit Esher . It has taken many years for common sense and safety considerations to achieve this.
(This lane was previously for M25 traffic only and was usually empty.)
I can now legally enter the roundabout and take my exit smoothly and safely without stupid lane changing as soon as I enter the roundabout.
It will make traffic flow much better. All that is missing is a warning sign to reduce last minute lane switching. Perhaps it is too much to ask for a sign :-)
I hope other areas are addressed and sorted. All this needed was some white paint and nowt else ( except the missing sign).

Yes, I too am pleased at this remarking. No more BMW drivers* sneaking up the M25 left-turn lane to then go straight on to Oxshott/Esher or right to Chessington. Lower blood pressures all round!
* not all BMWs ;-)

I too thought the earlier road marking was completely illogical - so much so, that someone I know - who doesn't drive a BMW - regularly used the left-hand lane to take the second exit at that roundabout.

I know another person who also used the left-hand lane.

There are so many places that frustrate drivers with poor lane markings or inappropriate street furniture.
I just wish the countless drivers who get fed up at such places would take a little time to contact the HA with suggestions or solutions to road problems.
I have done this on a few occasions when traffic lights have been out of phase on my journeys home, causing tailbacks. I e-mailed and the problems were sorted out. Sometimes its a case they don't know. If you come across situations like this thread people power in large enough numbers can change things. Apathy gets nothing done.

Damn, looks like my 10-year-old brother got into my account, not me - and I'm not a BMW driver, only my parents are =)

Gosh, a road mentioned that I actually know! But...not been there recently so I don't have an opinion :(

Came up that way at the weekend, it's a big improvement. It always struck me as odd the way it was before.

I came up that way yesterday and nearly lost my front O/S wing.
A **** obviously had not read the new lane markings so from the R/H lane chopped
acrross me as I went into the roundabout aiming for Esher.
Did not look and I believe he assumed I was exiting onto the M25.
So beware of some **** in auto pilot mode :-(
