Will it be allowed in the UK ?

(Segway introduced its personal transporter in 2002 and has sold more than 2,000 in the UK.
They are capable of speeds up to 12mph and cost £4,795.)
I have only ever seen one. It was zooming along the towpath at Kingston. IMO silent and dangerous to we pedestrians.

You beat me to it. I think it's a good idea so long as they are regulated as cars and the price is right. And GM stays afloat long enough to make them.

Got a chance to try a Segway for 10 minutes last summer on Jersey with 2 of my kids (SWMBO thought better of it) great fun.

There was a bit about them on CH 5 gadget show last night.

They seem to be illegal on the public highway, the same as electric scooters. What's the difference between them and a legal electric bike?

The electric bike has pedals, as did the Sinclair C5 - which gets around the law that the Segway cannot. It was mentioned on the Gadget show.
