00 1.4 sometimes wont start on warm engine - Peugeot_306
Hi,

I have an intermittent starting problem with my car. When I try to start my car when it is warm (left for between 30 mins and 2 hours or so), it will only start after the 3rd attempt.

It will turn over on the first attempt but wont sound like its firing at all, begin to sound like it might start on the 2nd attempt, and normally on the 3rd attempt it will start but will initially run at very low revs for a few seconds like it has been flooded. It will be absolutely fine after this and starts perfectly all other times.

There are normally some visible fumes and there is a smell of petrol when it finally starts as well when this happens.

Has anyone got any suggestions about what might be wrong? Possibly a sticking choke? It happens fairly infrequently (although twice this weekend) so difficult to repeat/test!

Thanks!
