Have you not moved house and therefore address change in that time. Regards Peter
If you have.. a new licence may cost you £1000 (I think thats the fine for not stating address change.....)

The OP probably has sent it off since but has just not realised that his licence is probably a lot newer than 1976. However it is very possible he has not changed address, I know several people who have been at the same place for 50 years.
|
Mine was upgraded for nothing online - no need to raise a forgotten address change.
|
Well they need to know the new address so they can forward it correctly. However DVLA don't need to know the address was changed many decades ago do they :).

They will have a copy of your entitlement to drive. In fact they quite possibly still have a copy of your application form! They store them on microfiche on reels. I know because I have seen them!
Sometimes when people got a photo card licence their entitlements for say motorcycles were left off. When some later spots that they can find the original entitlements on the microfiche application form.
It's a shame you just haven't misplaced a photocard one. You can phone up and pay the fee and probably get it within a week if not less. Step-son could not find his so phoned on a Friday afternoon and it arrived on the following Tuesday!! Very efficient these Welsh people in Swansea ;-)

But Rattle it has to be treated as a lost licence because a normal change of address involves sending the licence back after completing the relevant section.
No problems for old grumpy git, he'll get it sorted but will also need to apply for a photo licence if he didn't already have one.
|
Indeed he has just moved out recently (his first change of address in 32 years) and his licence got lost in that process :).
|
Rattle, lost is lost. So he has to pay for a new one. And it will be a photo one. You cannot complete the change of address section for a free change on a lost licence can you.
