Could he have been the banksman, helping the lorry driver to reverse and making sure there wasn't a train coming?
|
looks like he was meant to be watching out for trains - obviously wasn't looking in the right direction, should have been on other side of tracks anyway, his helmet wasn't strapped on, and then his colleagues ran over and tried lifting him as he lay there
A very lucky man indeed

his helmet wasn't strapped on
Whenever I've had to previously wear hard hats, they've never had straps.

helping the lorry driver to reverse
But the lorry was going forwards. Whatever the circumstances he was extremely lucky to be alive. And yet he had minor injuries. Onlookers must have thought the worst until the trailer has passed over him.

A very lucky man indeed. If the train had been a second or so earlier or later he would be maimed or dead.

It looked as though he went through the coupling between the tractor unit & the trailer, otherwise he would have been mincemeat being hit by the loaded container trailer.
