Followed a vehicle the other day which had a "Dogs in Transit" sticker in the rear window. I know that my vehicle recognition skills are not brilliant but I could have sworn that it was a Volvo ~ or do Volvos look like Transits when visibility is less than perfect ?

...just running the mother-in-law and the wife's sister home....

I have a friend (a real "friend", that is) who gives a merry toot of his air horns whenever he sees one of those signs. He says the results are excellent, though I (genuinely) don't condone it.

What about "Horses in Transit", a bit of a squeeze I would imagine!

Agree (in principle) with Vin about not tooting these signs but required steely determination not to respond to "Caution - show cats in transit" the other day. I assume that their delicate sensibilities as "show" cats requires some sort of extra caution. When I'd managed to stop laughing I felt quite proud of myself.

Using that analogy, does "baby on board" mean the sprog is surfing on the back seat?

I saw a Porsche in the US sporting: "Beware. Menopausal Male Driving"

In my younger days my daughter was so embarassed by the fact that I drove an Allegro that she put a sign in the back window saying "Caution - Old Git in Transit" - I got the message and changed the car, of course!
If you think motoring is expensive don't try divorce!

In my part of the country they were known as an All Aggro !!

They certainly represented the nadir of British car production. Someone told me once that if you jacked up one rear wheel the back window had a tendency to pop out?

sticker in >> the rear window
Saw one that said "Psychopathic driver on board". Mmmm....where can I get me one of those ? Might make the tailgaters hang back a bit ~ or maybe not ! Found that a manufacturer's genuine-accessory one-piece towbar helps ~ and certainly does a lot of damage to the front of the offending vehicle if one should happen to ram you from behind.
(Wouldn't recommend this type of towbar for actually towing with, however ~ you can't adjust the height of the ball. Excellent rear-end protection, though.)
