What a fascinating looking car.
It looks enormous in the video parked next to that Jag - looks like loads more head room in it than the Jag. Later on in the vid it is near a Passat or Audi A4 (?) and looks to dwarf it also in height.
HJ, do you know if the steering wheel is extendable or not?

Height adjustable, the road test data say...
I think they have got away with the styling. I like it anyway. If it's as roomy as it looks it might be a nice runabout for anyone not in a tearing hurry.
What does AE think of the styling I wonder?

To be honest I am rather impressed. The face needs work, the grill and lights are wrongly shaped sized and positioned and break up the crease and sight lines badly. The general proportions, profile and rear view are however rather funky and pleasing.
Bit of a boo boo to call a car the "shaker diesel" tho

How about "Aga Cooker", in the cream vanilla colour?

Thanks. I am convinced there is a global conspiracy by short car designers against tall people.
How much extra would it cost to put an extendable one in a car yet not doing so rules out a significant number of potential customers.

I will if I can find a dealer HJ.
Swansea doesn't have one anymore even though it has one listed on their site, I think the Cardiff one has closed down and the closet to me is 60 miles away in Newport... which is a nightmare to get to if you are, as I am, carless.
I was impressed with the C'eed when I viewed one last year though - except for the leg and head room. Way too small for me.
A relative of mine has just gone to teach in Seoul and he tells me that he is forever being stopped in the street by Koreans who want to have their photo taken with such a tall chap - I am taller than my relative so, methinks, Korea does not make cars for the likes of me (sniff).
I think if the Koreans could get their cars sorted on space for Europeans they would be onto a winner - much like when people figured out a few decades ago that the Japanese were making great cars.

I know a 6'6" Czech who fitted perfectly into a Skoda Estelle, and drove mirror-shatteringly close to everything at high speed too. I have another tall friend, only 6'2" this time, who adores Fiat 500s (real ones not this bloated modern thing) and (real) Minis, owned an Abarth 595, a Cooper S 1071 and a very rare small bullet-like Unipower GT with a Mini power pack at the back. Neither of them suffered from headroom problems. But I know another tall person who does... it's all in the proportions.
Far better of course to be a normal size. But if you are very big, American, German and Swedish cars will be the least cramped I suppose.

Gravells have opened a Kia dealer in Kidwelly and they are opening in Swansea too I think. How tall are you? I've got a cee'd, I'm 6'3" and I'm very comfy (driving about 600 miles a week). It was designed by Germans, who are more my size! 7 year warranty, blimey!

Reminds be vaguely of the Nissan Cube though this, imo, has the worst looking dash in the industry unfortunately.
Love this Kia Soul. It's beautifully CHUNKY! And the UK market will love the diesel auto.

Saw one of these on the A3 this morning.
For someone who has never had Kia anyway remotely near his radar, I was impressed! In HJ's favoured Vanilla colour, it was much bigger than it appears in the photos, and a genuinely useful but funky car!

Looks good to me, too (in red, anyway), and who want cars that all look the same, anyway? Load space is so much more useful if it has some height...

Soul looks interesting and a definite change from the usual crop of hatchbacks.
Have a look at the Honda Element on the Honda USA web site www.honda.com. These were everywhere last time I was in New York and I think it's a great pity Honda never imported them to the UK.
