Latest in a long line of very watchable VW ads, the young guy reminds us of his ancestor the couldn't-care-less yuppie of the 80s who bought his Golf because it would stand up to his neglectful lifestyle.
It could misfire though if the viewer gets an alternative message that the door on a Polo has to be slammed.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it last night! Perhaps the ad people know what they're doing, but you do wonder sometimes.

I didn't see the ad the way you say. I just thought he had a problem with doors! Very strange advert and not one that would make me consider the car one bit.
Also not as attention grabbing as the Indian Pug 206 advert!

Yes,well,
you could be right there Watcher.

Its a bit like the fiat adverts which say that their prices are the same as in 1992. Isn't that the same as saying that they have been overcharging people for the last 10 years?

Yes but think of the amazing FIATs you could buy in 1992. The fabulous Tempra! mmmm

Exactly what SWMBO sais last night on seeing the ad,'So VW build quality is now that bad that you have to slam the door, eh?'
