How can you tell how old a tyre is? - b308
I know that there is a marking on the sidewall which denotes the tyres age, but can anyone give me a link to to a list so I can check the age of those on my Maxi?!

This web page explains all the sidewall markings. tinyurl.com/7h6lzr
I've not yet been able to find the date of manufacture on my car's Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres.

To elaborate on the link:

If the number at the end of the DOT code contains only 3 digits, then this tyre was built before 2000; e.g. 3205 was a tyre built 32nd week 2005, but 325 was a tyre built 32nd week 1995.

If you can't find a DOT code you won't find the age. As L'escargot says, some tyre won't have them because it's only a US thing not required for UK market.

Tyres with 3 digit codes only are pre 1990. Tyres built from 1990 to 99 have a 3 digit code followed by a triangle symbol.

I'm pleased to find that out, so I'll stop looking. I'd even used a magnifying glass in case it was my eyesight!
