2003 2.0 Gearbox problem - calvertw

The car is an automatic diesel. I start from cold and move off slowly. If I lift off from the accelerator to meet the first speed bump after 30 metres, the revs drop and there is a noise for a second like driving over a cattle grid, accompanied by a judder. Once I'm on the move the problem disappears until the first cold start on the following day. The local main dealer thought it was lack of gearbox oil , but it's not. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
