Precious little to go on. Maybe an injector or MAF fault...?

There are two suppliers of fuelling for the HDis; Bosch and Siemens.

Bosch normally use an in-tank pump; Siemens don't. [Although there may well be a functioning pump relay, pump fuse and live wiring actually entering the tank....]

So, if it never runs the tank pump, that may be normal. If, however, it normally does run the pump for a few seconds at key-on - but doesn't when it won't start; then that is significant.

What code number did it have stored and could the scan-tool read both EOBD codes and PSA-specific codes?
