1998 2.5 clutch master and slave cylinders - sierraman
I have a problem with a leak from the master cylinder on one of these. It looks like the master and slave cylinders come as a sealed unit,as I cannot see how the pipe can be disconnected from the slave. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

To answer my own question,in case anyone else comes across this, yes. The master and slave cylinders come as a unit with interconnecting pipe.Price is appx.£200,not inc. fitting.

Dont go to the main Jeep dealers , they will rip you like £500+ for parts that are not needed. Use a local garage if must.

The slave is the only part that is needed here, its a common fault. Here are the parts you need..

slave seal -( camberley auto factors) No S7665. £6 or simply remove the seal , take it to the bearing /seal company local to you. match it & replace.

or call> jeepchryslerparts.co.uk Part is £60+ £3 p/p for the complete slave cylinder new !!

when fitting , replace the cylinder & bleed the system by lifting the slave above the engine, thru the bay, Then bleed as you do a braking system, by pumping the foot pedal. Then lower the cylinder thru the engine bay & simply bolt into place.

Happy days :)
