Warranty Direct any good ? - anthonyf
I have just been looking at this website with a possible view to taking out a policy with this company. From what I can see of the small print so far it all looks pretty good - about £35/month for this car that I have just bought. Any views from others who have used private extended warranties or indeed this one would be v. helpful. (Assume I am allowed to quote their name)

I've used them several times in the past and they paid up when needed, so, yes, I'd say they were ok!

When my 3 year warranty ended with Ford, I got a quote for a WD warranty for a year. For the make and model it worked out just over £300 for the year. The price quoted by Ford to extend for another year, £300. No saving, in fact more to go with WD.
Try a quote from the manufacturer/dealership first.

When you buy a second hand car a lot of the dealers just use these type of insurance policies rather than use their own labour. It is interesting that the likes of Ford etc are often cheaper to insure against probablyh because parts are so cheap people don't make claims for a lot of things.

These policies are good if you have a newish car with a complex engine, I would imagine there is a lot rules you have to stick to though with regard to servicing. E.g if you the piston went through the block they would want to know when it was last serviced and who did it etc.
