05 2.2 loses power and heater plug warning light - PeteC1
Have had a problem with flashing heater plug warning light. It starts flashing at random and then there is a loss of power. If I turn off and restart the engine it goes. Has only happened a couple of times and I thought it could be related to the heater plugs.
Had the car servced at Ford main dealer and their answer was

a) I had the wrong light and had mistaken the cold temp light for the heater warning light

b) After a short test drive they said there was no problem that they could see

They advised that the fuel filter had been replaced during the service and if there was a problem that should resolve it.

Am going back to them on Monday as the problem is back . Any ideas cos Im no mechanic

If they read the fault-codes then they'll know exactly what the problem is.

Injector coding is one common issue; but there are many possibilities.

you car is going into limp home mode so there must be a problem, with it going away when you restart the most common thing is the cam sensor. if its intermittant it might not show the code untill it was in limp home mode
