04 2.0 Zetec Alloy replacements. - Peter
I have a 54 reg Mondeo 2.0tdci with 205/55/16 91v tyres on seven spoke alloy wheels.

These alloys are deteriorating with flaking outer skin and corrosion. I have been offered a set of six spoke alloys as replacements? Can I assume they will be safe to fit in lieu of the originals or will complications exist?

Does anyone know of a company in the Bristol/Swindon area that can repair corroded alloys?

Thank you.

Just swapping wheels is not so straightforward.

1. Same number of stud/bolt holes in correct position.
2. Wheelnuts with the correct fit to the wheel.
3. Correct offset - ie distance from hub face to inner wheel edge.

Yellow pages should find a local specialist. There maybe someone along shortly with a recommendation.

If the new wheels are off a Mk II Mondeo they should fit.

What model is yours? What model are the new ones from/for?

EDIT: I mean Mk III, Mk II wheels wont fit a Mk III.

Any good bodyshop should be able to refurbish your existing wheels without too much trouble.. about £30-£40 per wheel, but if done right, well worth the money as it transforms the car.. in my opinion.

Hope this helps
