Our 1990 golf has ten months of its three year warranty remaining. We are taking it to the supplier for the third time for a erroneous air bag warning light reset.
I am concerned that the garage may be treating the symptom not the cause, and that problem will keep recurring.
Any advice or suggestions please.

Hi, The thin film cable to the air bag in the steering wheel is defective as has been many other MKIV Golfs ask for the fault in a dated report in writing and they will no doubt change the cable and your fault will go away. Peter

Dear Backroomers
We faxed the dealer and the Golf is booked in for tomorrow. Despite a fax specifying the possible cause, the service reception indicated that they only intended to reset again. This would be the fourth time according to ourselves but the dealer has only one reset on record.
What is the best response
1.Find another North London VW dealer? Could someone recommend one Without the same initials as Anno Domini
2 Escalate to Dealer Principal After Sales Manager or VAG.
