Some of the latest ncap results included the Daihatsu Cuore (Charade to us). They are selling the latest version in mainland europe but appears we aren't getting them.

Figures from the German site www.daihatsu.de/ show that it can achieve 64MPG combined and get from 0-60 in 11.1 seconds with 104g C02. Not a stunning looking car but much more interesting than some of the small cars we have already. I really wish
Daihatsu would step up their marketing a bit for the present cars and start bringing in these.

I very much look forward to seeing one, its sounds like a sensible step up from my Charade and by the looks of it they havent lost the lightweight factor which is great.

As I understand it the new car is appearing some time later this year.

Having had a look at the German Daihatsu site mentioned above, I would say that the new Cuore looks uncannily like a Mk1 Honda Jazz from the side, particularly the swage lines at door handle level, and just above the bottom of the doors, except it has been through a hot wash.
Should be great, especially if they will bring in an auto.(but what would the CO2 of that be?)

It's a shame that the UK will not get the new Cuore, it looks good.
It's especially frustrating when we are able to buy the absurd looking Materia!
I don't think Daihatsu are really commited to the UK market. I cannot even find a dealer within a reasonable distance of Sunderland.

Sorry, I'm wrong about the dealers, there's one in Durham.
