I i`m losing power on my 2004 clio 1.5dci dym 65. I cant get above 70 mph and at high revs theres a small amount of black smoke coming from the exhaust. At idle it ticks over ok and is fine around town its just struggling at the top end, any ideas please, thanks paul

It should go a lot better than that!

EGR valve faults are common on these; but usually will put the engine management light on? Have you ever had the fault-codes read or any other investigation?

Hi Click. You don't happen to have a mat in the footwell by any chance do you ? Sometimes they get under the accelerator pedal. Not being patronising, I've done it myself !

no light on, im taking it for a diagnostic check tmw , hopefully that will shed some light on the problem im just hoping its nothing major, are the egr valves an expensive fix, thanxs
