hi can anyone help . my airbag warning light has just lite up on the dash board.
how can i solve this problem ,is it safe to drive the car or is it for a garage to sort out.

safe to drive, it just means in the event of an accident the airbags wont be fired, most garages that have diagnostic equipment would be able to sort it out, the two most common faults are the seatbelt pretensioner (there is a cable under the seat that gets high resitance) or drivers squib (clock spring) it basically a ribbon cable that allows the steering wheel to turn yet still make eletrical contact, the trouble code will tell what it is

No, not part of the MOT test. Only way to have the light put out is with a fault code reader. Best done sooner rather than later as it's a safety related device.
