Speed cameras have no discretion - neither do CPS! - Armitage Shanks {p}

Man doing 37 mph in a 30 at 5am with his wife in labour in the car with him. Taken to court, told the case couldn't be dropped and then it was, after a lot of expense. We know cameras have no 'discretion' or common sense - it now looks as though the courts don't either, until people stand up to them!

Having read the report right thru it seems that the man was something of a wally. He had a good reason for speeding but did not raise it until he was in court. I still don't think CPS are marvellous but they did what they could in this case!

If you read it carefully it also says he paid a solicitor. It's probable that he took the solicitor's advice, but equally possible that the solicitor was the wally!
