2000 2.0DT - Takes time to get to correct temp - drew1103
My Zaffy seems to take quite a time to get to temperature (according to the dash gauge). Where is the thermostat and is it an easy thing to replace. Could this be the cause?

How long/far is "quite a time". Takes mine ages too - driving 4 miles in traffic fails to move the gauge at all. I believe it's a feature of diesels.

Probably about the same, I would guess. If thats the case then fine, I'll leave it alone then. Cheers!!!

As per several previous threads on this forum & elsewhere many Vauxhalls of this vintage take a long time to reach normal operating temperature, SWMBO's 1.8 Zafira is the same. Seems to be by design rather than faulty.
