Hi All BR's
Have a set of budget tyres on the rear of my car as dealer fitted them when I bought the car. they are Maragoni, Trio, has anyone ever had a set of these and if so how long did they last ?

Its Marangoni by the way.
Quite good Italian budget tyres I beleive, much cheaper than all the big names, but not as rubbish as some of the far eastern imports.

Hmmmm
The one's I have are less than 3 years old and still have plenty of tread remaining on them, but in between all of the tread they are cracking or starting to crack and this is on both rear tyres !!!!! Could it be that both where faulty or are they just cheap and nasty ?
Seeing as these often overlooked elements of the car, are the thing that keep you in contact with the road, I will change them.

Yes I have heard of them. I think that they are used in Kebabs!! Are cheap tyres really that cheap. The price of the real thing doesn't frighten me too much.
Best reg's..................MD

If you want real top tyres, get yourself some Colway Grippers.

No the real things are not that bad,
I actually only noticed as I was checking one of the front ones which needs changing, so now I'll do all of them as costco have Michelin energy's for £32 each and if you buy 4 you get 20% off.
My thoughts about the Marangonis are better left unread, also they seem to be really noisy.

Not heard of these tyres but ive had the best of the bunch over the last 9 years, Maxxis, Corsa, Fate O, Roadchamp etc... I have been warned about cheap tyres and have decided to fit some branded tyres as a test over price/treadwear, its only going to cost 80 extra for 4 tyres over 20,000 miles

I've used Marangonis in the past. They were OK and wore quite well. Very good price, I recall.
