Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 55 plate 1.6tdci estate tailgate problem

55 plate 1.6tdci estate tailgate problem - jamesy
The tailgate handle on my 55 plate focus estate no longer lets me into the boot, I can however get in with the boot release button on the key.

When you pull the handle there is nothing happening at all (no lock sticking etc) which makes me think this is a sensor or something electrical.

The car is German and I am living in Finland so currently don't have an English handbook.

I did have a quick look at the fuse diagram but could not see anything obvious. I also removed the trim inside the tailgate to see if there was any wires loose etc but they all look like they are still connected.

If anyone else has had this problem or has any advise it would be greatly received as this problem is becoming very annoying.

It's probably the tailgate switch causing the problem,not an uncommon fault.

After a bit more poking around yesterday I have come to the same conclusion, any idea if the switch is a easy (and cheap) part to replace?
