Peugeot 406 Coupe (1997 - 2003) - 406 coupe mph per 1000rpm

406 coupe mph per 1000rpm - trier
I once had a 2.0 litre 406 coupe that was so low geared it ran in 5th at 4000rpm when the road speed was 80mph; it was noisy.
Does anyone know if the 2.2 litre petrol was any better? Thanks for all replies.
