Spotted a bargain from a dealer! - cepheus
Or perhaps not, there must alweays be a reason for the price. However this is well within the manufacturers warranty. I am still wary though after seeing a 18 month Corsa with gudge in the oil filler cap

What sort of reasons would a trader sell at the private price, it is difficult to find a private sale selling at the private estimates by What Car?

What should I look out for?

Import invalidating warranty?
Stolen and Recovered?
Just Stolen!
VIN not same as on registration document
Major Crash?
Major faults not covered by the Warranty are there any?

or perhaps the car doesn't fit in with the sort of car they sell and they want to get rid of it quick? Then again if it seems to good to be true....

Is it an ex hire car?
Has it missed one or more of its scheduled services (and if so, is the warranty still valid?)

I found a car a dealers recently which was 6 months old, and had done 15,000 miles but which had missed its 10,000 mile service. The dealer would not give me a straight answer as to whether the original 3-year warranty was still valid.

Wary for what reason? This is very common at this time of year on cars which only do short journeys and does not mean there is anything wrong with the car.

No I didn't realise that, in fact that is what the seller told me although the water level was down as well. In fact my present car has got some gunge in the cap, perhaps due to undertaking a lot of short journeys myself, I assumed the head gasket was going.

I would seriously check if this car is a CAT D or C in it's previous life, is it a main franchised dealer we're talking about?

You mean check if the car is a write off?

It's a dealer in higher performance cars, so I assume they need to get rid of trade ins.

I presume they have an HPI report for you to see?
