(97-03) - Central Locking Stuffed - jase1
Symptom is that the central locking will lock but not unlock. It feels as if the unlock mechanism is not able to travel all the way to the "unlock" position, preventing the driver's door (and therefore all the others) from unlocking. Locking works just fine, so it would appear that the lock itself is fine.

Is this just the solenoid or maybe something else? I can order in a 5-wire solenoid (I believe this is the one the car requires) from ebay for next to nothing, but how do I work out if I am right?

Any help gratefully received :)

Other problem being of course that getting to the solenoid will involve opening the door, something which isn't currently possible. How does one get around that issue?
