Federal Tyres - Any Good - AlastairW
Just had the Focus MOT'd, and although the front tyres were legal they wouldn't have lasted much longer. The garage suggested Federal Tyres, which I agreed to have fitted. They wern't expensive, but are they any good?

Perfectly acceptable Taiwanese brand who also market under the name of "Hero" tyres.
They are becoming quite well respected in the UK now with a good performance tyre range based on Bridgestone technology.
Normally very hard wearing with tread wear ratings often over 400. Unless you push your car hard this shouldnt compromise grip very much at all. I have Hero HR668's on the front of my nose heavy 1.9td 306, and find ride, handling and braking fine.

wait till we get the GiTi tyres from shanghai,should be a good conversation piece even if the grip is only average

I had some Federals that were made in Morocco. They were hopeless - just couldn't get them to balance.
