Saw a V40 on the way into work and thought I would look to see how much and what specification I can get . . . . after all I do need to order a new car.

The Volvo web-site gives me loads of pictures and information but no prices and no indication of what I get for my money (e.g lists in features "manual seats" and "electric seats" but nothing about which version has what or how much I have to pay!

Could have been an option to replace the Honda as the CO2 figures for the diesels are low!

Does not even tell me how to find a dealer so looks like I won't bother.

Have I missed something?

There's a price and car "configurator" at

Thanks - strange that there does not seem to be a link to it on the web-site!

I put "Volvo Cars" in google, chose UK and the link was at the bottom right?

Anyway, hope that helps - not that they have a V40.

Do you mean the old V40 or a new V50. If the latter then there should be a full PDF download of the pricing and specifications in the relevant section.

If you're after the V40 you need to look at Parker's website etc.

Is it only me who finds Volvo names confusing?

Well, it's not just Volvo--I've never understood the practise of giving cars anonymous numbers instead of a name, as the European manufacturers seem to do. I mean, mention "Chevrolet Biscayne" or "Imperial LeBaron" and you can picture the car, but "Volvo C40" or whatever--that could be half a dozen different models for all the memory jog the name gives you.

Am I to assume this is to make cars more salable in multi-lingual areas?

The numbers thing can be very confusing - especially at BMW and MB.
A 318d for instance actually has a 2 litre diesel engine. I thought it would have a 1.8 - maybe it's me ?

Volvo names are easy to understand; S40 etc is saloon, C30 etc is coupe/convertible, v50 etc means versatility.

Anyway all the information the original poster was after is on the volvo cars website
