Our local Peugeot dealer has erected a row of flag poles on its used car lot. Each flag shows a list of the other makes they also sell used. Trouble is they have printed 'Volkswagon' on every flag. With this attention to detail what are their PDI's like?

Should have posted here first, he would have been moderated. What was wrong with just VW - everyone knows what it means and difficult to spell wrongly.

Not the first mistake in the speeling at peug if you read their massive in showroom posters after the 207 launch you would have been amazed at the ''emergency break assist''

I'll get the kettle on shall i?

Goodness knows how much they paid the consulting firm to design that.

Reminds me, teacher in School had the first Cavalier I ever saw (beige they were all beige) the lettering across the back panel spelt V H U X H A L L. He wasn't my English teacher by the way.

Pre-Delivery Inspection?

Pre-Delivery Inspection (of new cars) - possibly some dealers have another name for it, and some don't do it properly or at all.

PDIs will be carried out by different employees from whoever arranged the flags. There won't be any connection between the two issues.

I've just had a thought.

It's possible that the word Volkswagon is not intended to refer to the car manufacturer that has a similar name, but has been put on the flags to be deliberately controversial and make people take notice of the dealership. If that was the intention then it appears to have been successful!

Yes but all we know is that it is "A Peugeot Gagage somewhere in UK" and as we can't be given the name we can't willingly go there or avoid them, depending on how we feel about spelling as an attribute of a technician!

The naming and shaming rules on this site are somewhat way OTT. As if a dealership would go to the trouble of suing an internet forum becuase somebody pointed out on the internet their signs were spelt wrongly. Even if they did, it would get thrown out of caught.

It's a shame this sight has been caught up in the afraid to say boo to a ghost world of PC rubbish these days.
