I have just been looking at pictures of the new C class interior and it struck me how poor the ergonomic design was inside.
Obvioulsy the quality will be there with a MB (hopefully) and to me the design is quite tatsteful but I have to say that having the heater controls down by the gearstick is not that ergonomic. Then I realised that it was also similar in the other German so called premium brands although with VW it is a little better in most of their models - the polo is particulalry good.
Maybe a little to presumptious for me to say this but I have to say that Honda seem to do a good job with ergonomics with Accord and particularly the S2000 and also the Civic although the interior design is questionable to alot of people - but you must admit it is pretty ergonomic.

It could be that with the intorduction of automatic climate control, the heater is becoming a set and forget component. You may need to change the temp. but the car gets on with the rest. Even demisting is taken care of on one button.>> I have just been looking at pictures of the new C class interior and it
