I've recently obtained a 56 plate/2000 mile Focus Zetec estate as my new company wheels.
Does anyone have driving experience of the new Focus , as mostly it can't be faulted , but there does seem to be excess creaking from the interior.
It's fine at speed but at lower speeds seems quite noticeable ,
especially making low speed turns or speed humps/rough surfaces. The noise seems to be from in or around the front doors.
Has anybody noticed this on other cars and do you think the garage would be willing to investigate it?

It's a Ford = it will creak.

That said, they're a cracking car. Take a look at it's manufacture date (not the registration date). Ford bought in a "hush kit" which was basically lots of foam bits to stop creaking. I'd have thought a 56 plate would have had this fitted at the factory, but maybe it stood in a showroom for a while.

Is it Petrol or Diesel?

I've driven two different ones on hire, both 56 plates, didn't notice any creaking !

Creaking from around the top of the windows has been mentioned many many times over on the Focus Website so I would suggest you head over there for more info. A quick surf finds this one .

My '06 does this creaking a little from the passengers side but not enough to worry about . I recall early suggestions (12 months or so back ) like ensuring the rubbers are clean or lubricated with Silicone etc .

I'm sorry?

Maybe our last 4 Ford, which have all creaked (but otherwise been great cars and at least as reliable as my Audi's) were exceptions to the rule then? Oh, that must apply to the OPs as well!

Fiesta was completely creak free at near 100k
Mondeo has one from the boot area over severe bumps, but nothing from the dash area at 133k
Renault has four at 41k!

Cheers

I run a 32,000 mile Focus Zetec (registered Feb 05) series 1. There are no creaks whatsoever !

As a rule, the harder the suspension the more likely creaking is.
I drove a Focus 07 1.8 sport (Zetec, Titanium and Sport I believe have harder suspensions than LX and Ghia), on roughest surfaces - slight creaking.
I suggest maybe grabbing items of trim with hand in the car when parked and see what creaks.
Creaks are common to most makes of car - there will always be a % that creak. If it is a newish car and you have a friendly dealer, they will often try to cure it under warranty (well Honda did on a 2 yr old car).

We are on our third new Focus estate now. No creaking from any of them.

Thanks for the input folks , I shall take a look at the focus website. Having had Fords before this one I can't say I've noticed it as a problem on other models.
