shaking gearstick in peugeot 206 1.4hdi - stephen 007
there is a very bad shake in the gearstick when i accelorate.got the wheels checked & changed both left & right driveshaftss.what wrong??

If you mean severe rocking forwards and backwards of the gearshift lever as you accelerate and brake?

Suspect weak/broken engine mounting. Get a decent lever, strong screwdriver will do at a pinch and lever against each mounting and check for excess play/breakage.

My daughter had a similar problem at tickover on her 53 2ltr hdi, the garage changed all injectors (under warranty) that fixed the problem.
make sure this is your problem as it is a tad expensive.
