A few months back I started a thread asking the BR for advice after a solicitor was intending to issue proceedings against me over an accident that had nothing to do with me (I have never even been to the place where it happened).

As usual BRers offered excellent advice, and I am extremely grateful to everybody who contributed. A few people asked me to keep them informed as to the outcome of this matter. It is now 4 months or so on, and so far the other side have still not carried out their threat to start proceedings. My insurer is confident they will not pursue this matter; they think that if they ever intended to they would have done so sooner rather that later. I have also consulted a solicitor who assured me that they will have to prove my involvement in the accident, and on the face of it there is no way they can. He also thinks it is unlikely I will hear anymore about this matter. So I am not totally in the clear, but I am fairly confident and unstressed about it all now. Many thanks to the BR once again.

Good to hear. Trust the status quo remains.

Hopefully, that's the end of the matter and there will be no further nonsense concerning your insurance. Thanks for the update.
