The governor of CA has been asked by the lawyers of Paris Hilton to pardon her and let her off the jail sentence of 45 days for driving while disqualified. Does the team think he should ?

She's got some loopy internet petition going, the gist of which is that she is some sort of National Treasure and she brings so much pleasure into the lives of the downtrodden masses in USA that they would miss her if she was in prison.

I was going to ask the same question, I was wondering what a Paris Hilton was other than a Hotel in Paris, then I started wondering what people were smoking tonight..........I've searched t'internet and found out what a Paris Hilton is but I now wonder what she's for. Best place for her is clink, she's clearly a menace. What pathetic extremes to go to to change your name to match the towels you "borrowed" from a chain Hotel. Second thoughts might change mine to "Travel Lodge" or "Toby Inns". I once stayed in the Langham Hilton which was quite snazzy, but I wouldn't change my name to that.

No - the Hilton Hotels take their name from her father or a relative who founded the chain. She is the heiress which explains the loads of dosh and low IQ."I sign what my people tell me to" is the excuse for not knowing that she was banned! Perhaps she couldn't remember who was driving either!

pugugly: obviously you have not heard of or seen her hit film "one night in paris hilton" which ws freely availbale on the internet a few years ago and was the hottest search item since pamela-anderson's tapes. now available on dvd
( so that's another backroomer mentioned onthis thread in addition to dd ! ;-) )
as for travelodge, that name has been given to the big-brother winner "chantelle-travelodge" aka "paris-hilton-lookalike".
p.s. the register has the story of the petitions to arnie - one asking for the pardon, another asking for paris not to be given a pardon.

Perhaps she should get her "people" to read to her the following quote attributed to the late Lord Denning:
"Be you ever so high the law is above you"
and translate it to her thus: the fact that you're a Z-list shelebriddy because
a) your daddy owns a large chain of hotels,
b) you and your mate made some trashy TV programme in which you went around annoying, patronising and insulting people whose circumstances compel them to work in menial jobs, and
c) some of your more, ahem, confidential home movies found their way onto the internet
