I no expert on the Corsa B but perhaps you now need to resych the key to the immobiliser - as below for Corsa C:

switch on ignition to second setting, system will then remain in synchronizing mode for 30 secs

briefly press open or closed botton or remote control while unit is in ignition

the central locking system locks & unlocks to show that the remote control has been synchronized

Or have a read here: www.remotekey.co.uk/keyfob-FAQ/

Victorbox,

The resyncronizing you mention is only for marrying up the remote fob to the central locking after a fob battery change.

The immobiliser works by way of a non powered transponder chip inside the fob, which in turn talks to the receiver on the steering column. sounds to me as the problem lies with the receiver as thats what's recently been disturbed.

Hi Dave! although I am very grateful for other replies(perhaps I didn't give sufficient info.) but I think you may be on the right track as you say. Any ideas as to how I can overcome the problem, like disarming the immob. or buying another receiver,I don't know.Kind Regards, mally434

Many thanks for taking the time to assist me. I'll have to take it to a Vauxhall garage I guess.

As bell boy says, you can't disarm it. A garage *might* be able to via Tech 1 or 2 diagnostic equipment, but legally you're meant to inform your insurance company that a factory fitted immobiliser is no longer operational on your vehicle.

If I were you I would first backtrack your steps and make sure any wires / connectors that were disturbed are 100% reconnected.

Many thanks for your assistance and your time. I'll backtrack but may end up towing it to Vauxhall garage. Cheers !
