2001 406 2.0 hdi, noticed this morning loud tapping noise from engine, appears to be in area of cambelt starts about 1200 revs and gets faster / louder the harder you accelerate.Cambelt and waterpump changed 5000miles ago by garage Anyone able to help with suggestions. thanks

probably the infamous injector ticking or cambelt pulley. Get the pulley checked because these break up - do a search on here for hdi ticking/noise theres plenty

Car been in the garage, took pulley off nothing wrong, appears to be the water pump pulley? which was replaced 5k / 8months ago which had developed play in it, replaced under warranty :-) as not 12 months ago.
