Can different keys interact ? - Carl2
Wifes Saxo would cut out once or twice within 0 -200 miles. Could not find any loose connnections a turn of the key back 1 click then back to normal position and the car would carry on as normal. There were no codes stored. I had to agree reluctantly that I did not know what was wrong so I left the car at the dealer they returned the car back saying they could not replicate the fault. The only difference between their driving and mine was that they only had the 1 key on the ring so I removed my other keys (including a Vauxhall key) and so far 2800miles the fault has not returned. When looking for the original fault I rocked the keys up and down to no avail so I am wondering ,could my Vauxhall key interact with my Citroen?

very unlikely, once the ignition has been turned on the ecu interragates the key and assuming that the key gives the correct signal then the immobliser then becomes redundunt (this is describing it in simple terms) the shear fact that the vauxhall key code hop (change sequence) each and every time its used in a vauxhall the chances of it being the same code are very slim . the only time that i have experienced any interuption of a key signal is usually in a high radio interferance area (local police station) and under ground car parks but this usually blocks the signal/scrambles it (wont start/crank) and we tow the car away from the area and then try it again ! how ever nothing surprises me nowadays
