Ive got an issue with a rover 620sdi creaking from the front nearside suspension. Ive got my head inside the arch and bounced the car and it sounds like the noise originates from the bush at the end of the wishbone, although Im not sure wishbone is the right name as it looks to be a single bar coming from the base of the hub towards the front of the car and joining to the chassis.
I need to know does the whole part have to be changed or can the bush be swapped? Also where can I order these parts online? Its rare I get time to go to motor factors when they are open and I know most my local ones are really bad for rover parts. Im struggling to just find cambelts for the car at the moment (L series twin belt job)

Are you sure it's a bushing. I had this kind of creaking recently on my Alfa. It tended to be most noticeable when driving quite slowly first thing in the morning (cold) and, say, over speed cushions or a bumpy road surface. It turned out to the the strut top mount bearing. I got the 'should replace both at the same time' bit from everybody, but only had the one replaced.
If you raise the car off the ground you won't hear any noise as there is no load on the bearing. The garage that I took the car to put the car on a ramp with the front wheels on rotating discs.

Is it a rubber bush?
I used to keep a pot of old brake fluid for lubricating these when they creaked.
I might have to use some new, for a creak on the back end of a current car.

its definatley down the front end of the wishbone arm. Must be the bush thats causing it. Used to be more in damp wether or after a long drive but now its just all the time.
