hello,
wondering if anyone has any idea, i have a T reg rover 211, 102000 on the clock, just recently had the head gasket done and since then the car has been juddering when i put it into 2nd and 3rd gear, only for a few seconds and only when the engine is warm, have also noticed when the car is sat idling (only when warm again) have a nice smooth engine noise then every few seconds juddering again, but have noticed if i put my foot on the accelerator to bring it just above 1000 revs the juddering stops. I hope that makes sense, and thanks in advance for any replies

Whats a Rover 211?
A Rover 200 with a 1.1 twin cam k-series engine.
|
Its a 8 valve single cam 1.1 K series lump.
Came out around the time Rover killed off the 100 as a cheapish step in to Rover ownership.
|
k-series:
Capacity
1120cc
The 8 valve unit was only used in the Rover 100 (Metro shape) from 1995 to 1998 and produced 60Ps
The 16 valve was used in the Rover 25 from 1999 onwards and gave 75Ps @ 5000rpm.

Well I never realised you could get a Rover 211. I always thought the smallest engined 200 series was the 214. You live and learn.
|
There are an awful lot of odd engines about;Ford made a 940cc Kent and a 1100 CVH.Some of these engines were made just for markets with particular taxation breaks.

200 bubble before 25, 1.1 unit IMO was the worst unit for faults
