Fiesta temp gauge fuse - location - Rattle
I have yet to buy a Haynes manual and my temp guage is not working does anybody know what fuse number its likely to be? If I test the fuse and it works where is the temp guage sender unit located on the 1.1 Valencia? On my dads Escort Haynes suggest you have to drain the cooling system in order to remove it, is this true? As longs as the engines not hot I don't see the point on draining the entire cooling system.

its no 4 on a mk 3 fuse box if thats any good,and the sender is next to the thermostat housing but not the multi plug on the top thats for the cooling fan switch

Thanks :)

What connects to the sender unit then? There is a multi plug with two wires (one seems tro be a dead wire :( ) on top of the thermostat, but where do I need to look for this temp sender? Is it easy to replace?

Fuse 4 appears to be horn fuse :(

It's just underneath that, with one wire going to it. When you pull off the connector you'll see a screw thread. Take a note of the colour of the ring at the bottom of this thread when you go to Ford's, as there are several types.

is the connector on the same loom as the temperature sensor, if so it looks like it has been disconnected :(.

With that and the white smoke I am wondering if this was done to indicate head gasket failure :(

BTW, the wire is brown/white striped and if your fuel gauge works then it's not the fuse.

Thats the wire that is just hanging out form no where :( Its all starting to make sense now.

Reconnect it and see what it does. It may have been disconnected because the guage didn't work and the last owner was fiddling - you never know!
