I bought a 2002 Rover 45 TD (113ps) with 95k on the clock. The service record shows that a brand new engine was fitted at 58k under Rover's warranty. The clock however was left to tick and was not set back to zero, is this common practice? (The HPi check didn't show anything dodgy.)
Also, this car is quiet lazy in the morning before its get hot, is this character of Td cars? (Excuse me for the density but it is my first diesel).

Yes,its illegal to reset the clock unless the clock itself is faulty and replaced with a new one.

Thanks Steve,
Also found that disconnecting the MAF sensor got rid of the morning laziness, so going to claim for a new sensor on the warranty.

you may want to look here tuning-diesels.com/ and not bother with a new maf from them.
