2003 Ibiza bushes - bimmer-driver

Hello. Has anyone on here ever had any issues with the back bushes on the front wishbones on a 2003 SEAT Ibiza going soft? I only ask becasue mine has started to wander about when you go over 30 mph, and my mechanic reckons the bushes have gone soft. He says they've not cracked, but have gone so soft that he can move the wishbone about by hand, resulting in the wandering. My local SEAT parts desk admitted that they get through quite a few, but denied there was a problem with them as they would. Also, how difficult is it to replace them? From what I can see the bush itself is attached to the body and the end of the wishbone runs through it.
