Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel engine vibration

Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel engine vibration - nmidd
I've got a 99 206 1.9 diesel thats got a vibration between 1500 - 2000 rpm through the gears and at low speeds. Its not in the engine by the sound of it, more like a loose metal shield or something vibrating. Anybody got any ideas what it might be?

Exhaust is the first thing that comes to mind. It'll probably still be on the original (7 year old) exhaust, possibly one of the fixing points has rusted and dropped off, and the pipe's now resonating at that particular engine speed. Happened to my old Sunny, and the exhaust only lasted a further 6 months before holes started appearing!

hi try the heat sheild, i think there's 1 mounted near the centre box. if not there try near the down pipe.
