I have driven my two day test YARIS down the motorway today to see relatives and I must say it has been a pleasant drive; comfortable, nippy and I love the keyless entry and start system. However, could not get the hang of the automatic air conditioning. I thought this meant that you set a temperature which was then automatically maintained; however, when it was turned to auto the thing went mad and changed all the settings, moving to recirculated air, blowing super freezing air in our faces (when it had been set to face and feet) and generally exhibiting a complete mind of its own.
But of course this is all academic owing to the low front so I have decided to follow the general consensus of opinion and sort out the drive before going any further. The RAV is safe for the moment...
Incidentally, I found that some car manufacturers seem to supply height from the ground in the technical specs (which is brilliant from my point of view) but not all. Shame. Would have saved a lot of unnecessary messing about.
Incidentally, school boy, I quite like the look of the panda but am always very wary of french and Ialian cars.

Is there a latest Suzuki Ignis then if it must be japanese? Not sure if it would have the same drive as a Yaris, but certainly a bit higher off the ground!

Dodge Calibre? Probably not much more than a Yaris.....

Height from the ground is only half the story, it needs to have a short wheel base too.
I have exactly the same problem, my garage is two levels below ground and it rises to the surface in the space of a few incredibly steep metres then levels off. The underside of my car catches every time and it makes my eyes water. It doesn't happen to short cars.
I try and minimise the damage by approaching at an angle so the front right wheel drops down the ramp first leaving the left rear wheel to start to lift up so it kind of see saws over the other two wheels but doesn't bottom out. I can't explain it better than that but it seems to work.

Designed, particularly by an Architect = hell usually.
The guys that put it in, i.e. the slope etc. (may) have worked to approved drawings, but in the construction industry just don't presume anything.
