Road Fund Licence query - s61sw
Does anyone know how far in advance the reminder for renewal comes through the post?
The reason I ask is that mine runs out at the end of December, but I'm out of the country on holiday from mid Dec until after the new year. More likely than not, I will use the car to get to the airport (and obviously park up there), therefore I'll have a car on the road without a valid disc if the renewal doesn't get to me before I go away. I have a vague memory from last year that the reminder seemed to come through quite late (7 - 10 days before renewal). Am I right in thinking this?
Sorry if this is a bit confused, but I don't know of a way round this particular problem, if indeed there is one.

on the last day of this month cash your tax disc in and then go to the post office and buy a new one......
job done.....
all forms available online or at post office.......

Why not do it on line ?

If you have a new car, or a recently issued 'new' MOT, just do it early.

Unless you are one of the few who missed out on the new regs - our second car will have to be renewed this month at the post office - just missed out on the new MOT's last year !

All 3 of our cars needed taxing end Aug. The reminders all came on the same day about 2 wks ago.

One of them needs an MOT from 10th Sept, and that didn't come with the code to allow on-line renewel. I logged on to the DVLA website to see if I could 'trick' it by using the reg no and V5C number, and it looked as if I could, but it then stopped me as it only allows renewal 14 days before month end. I don't know if the same limitiation applies to Post Office renewals.

I've just renewed a bike at local PO and they won't renew before the 15th of the previous month (the renewal form says this).
