Why not do it on line ?
If you have a new car, or a recently issued 'new' MOT, just do it early.
Unless you are one of the few who missed out on the new regs - our second car will have to be renewed this month at the post office - just missed out on the new MOT's last year !

All 3 of our cars needed taxing end Aug. The reminders all came on the same day about 2 wks ago.
One of them needs an MOT from 10th Sept, and that didn't come with the code to allow on-line renewel. I logged on to the DVLA website to see if I could 'trick' it by using the reg no and V5C number, and it looked as if I could, but it then stopped me as it only allows renewal 14 days before month end. I don't know if the same limitiation applies to Post Office renewals.

I've just renewed a bike at local PO and they won't renew before the 15th of the previous month (the renewal form says this).
