Accord - how much is it worth? - David Horn
Just a quick query - my Grandad is thinking about trading in his Honda Accord for a new Astra, but has no idea what to expect since it's got a tiny milage on it (circa 20k IIRC, may be less).

It's X-reg, the SE Executive saloon variant with the 2.0 petrol engine and automatic gearbox.. Full service history etc, perfect condition. He's nearly 90 and finds it a bit big to park and likes the new Astra. It's got all the toys like parking sensors etc.

Any idea what he might reasonably expect part ex?

Cheers,

David.

Parkers guide puts it at £4770 with 40K, so possibly a bit more with only 20K.

Very desirable car. Punters love low mileage.

Sell privately I would go for at least £5,500 as an asking price.

Then do a hard cash deal on the Astra through a broker. Not a bad car but not like there are people queueing up to buy them.

FWIW, I notice Car Giant is currently offering a 2002 Accord V-Type auto for £6.2K. Does have 50K miles up tho. See it here: www.cargiant.co.uk/cars/search3.asp?Id=290912 . Asking £5.5 for an X-reg might be a bit tall.
