Hiya
I've a 406 HDI 2.2 136BHP Estate. I used to have a 110 same model.
It's been recently serviced, does loads of Motorway miles etc, about 40k on the clock, gets bounced off the limiter every fortnight or so, had the millers stuff through it.
But it really doesn't feel like it has an extra 26 horses. And the power delivery comes in a bit too far up the rev range as well, unlike the 110 which pulled from tickover.
So what I'd like is a recc to a top outfit who would be able to check things like the turbo boost is up to spec, or otherwise sort it out. I'm near Camberley in Hampshire, but would travel to anywhere/one really good. Please help-it's a super car otherwise.

The 2.2 HDI lump isnt the pick of the 406 HDI bunch, The 110 bhp version is.
Dont expect a 2.2 HDI to run as nice or pull as sweetly as the 2 litre 110 bhp version.
Ask any Peugeot / Citroen technician & they will say the 2.2 HDI is more tractor orientated & pick the 110 HDI.
I reckon if a Peugeot dealer checks it over they will find nothing wrong with it.

But might well make it a lot worse in the process. I entirely agree with the above comments concerning the 2.2 litre engine.

OK, live with it then.
Thanks you two. That'll be 3 of us of the same opinion then!
On the other hand, worth perhaps a visit to Van Aaken maybe? Or are we into silk purse/sow's ear territory?

Van Aaken & The Derv Doctor are both worth asking first, Either might be able to work some magic on it.
They also might have one already tuned you could have a spin in first.
