A170 CDI front springs

A170 CDI front springs - flat cap
Hi any experience of front spring breakage on a class with 78000 miles up. I replaced the rear spring about 18 months ago nut now ione of the fronts has gone. I intend to have a specialist do this job asd i presume the front struts need removing and compressing to get the springs out. But do i really need to pay the extra £95 plus vayt to have the suspension realigned aftyer wards ? thank you
