My dad has had a 54 plate C-max since Oct last year. Until this weekend, he didn't realise that you were supposed to be able to open the boot without using the remote button on the key!
The manual explains that when the car is open, pulling on the release on the boot exterior should open it, but it doesn't! Any ideas as to why not? I don't want him to have to use the remote for ever!

Is the ignition on?
I'm afraid I'm not too hot on the C-Max. On my Focus, pressing the button regardless opens the boot but on the Fiesta, the button could only be pressed when the ignition was off.
Might be worth a go?

Trust yours to be different, Adamski! Pressing the button on my remote (twice) only unlocks the boot if the ignition is off.

It's not!
I misread the question - I meant the internal button.
Sorry!

I take it he usually unlocks the car via the remote?
On our firms Transit connect, pressing the remote once only unlocks the doors, but pressing it twice unlocks the vans cargo doors as well.

Thanks - I got him to try pressing twice to unlock and that has done the trick!
